Amplid is proud to announce that Peter Bauer, an original co-founder of the brand, now owns 100% of the business. Founded in 2005 by friends Peter Bauer and Anian Thrainer, Amplid is renowned for the quality of its products and its dedication to R&D. Peter who has a quarter of a century of snowboard design experience is excited about the brand’s future and the challenges ahead:
“It was very important to me to secure 100% ownership and keep Amplid an independent, rider owned and operated business. It’s a challenging time in the market right now but I’m confident Amplid’s emphasis on feel and performance driven R&D will help the business to continue growing.”
Anian who took a sabbatical last year after the birth of his son has decided to focus more on family life, but will continue to work on ski design for the company on a consultancy basis. Anian said:
“Being a part of Amplid for the last eight years and seeing the brand now makes me extremely proud. I’m stoked that I can continue to be involved with a company I’m passionate about. My plan is to spend more energy designing skis and some serious time riding them!”
Peter is now responsible for all future brand decisions and will absorb a number of Anian’s jobs in the business. All operational and logistics tasks are now the responsibility of Sabine Thieme who joined Amplid full time last winter.
Peter and Anian are stoked that agreeing the terms of Peter’s takeover after eight years of working as the perfect team, was a relaxed process without any bad vibes. The two friends are excited about catching some pow turns together this coming season.
