The second AAA task, set by Amplid’s inhouse cliff seeking missile, Mr Teddy Berr, was to film a 30 second POV edit using the GoPro cameras generously provided by GoPro to the Academy athletes. Once again the bar was raised and the quality of the video submissions impressed. Videos that deserve a mention include Alex Gavic’s crazy Y-Couloir hike and ride production, Markus Haka’s gnarly roof-top to wall ride transfer, Olov Engstrom’s techy urban handrail and ledge combo, Bernhard Brauns monster cliff drop shot and Charlie Rowland’s smooth freeride line which included some high speed and fluid drops. Those guys truly smashed it.
However after much (and I mean a lot… a lot, a lot) of deliberation it was decided that Mitch Wayment’s perfect park lap which included a lofty backflip rocket grab and a crazy bs540 with a Spaghetti grab would take the snowboarding prize and Sveinung Jacobsen’s creative hand built urban/slopestyle run would take the skiers win.
