"The Amplid Souly Grail is part of the centrifugal collection range, which focuses on a carving approach to the mountains, from groomed to coarse powder in the case of this model. What we got was a really good freeride board with an interesting carving orientation. You get all the components of a board that's there to track, fast and far. It's ultra-stable, the grip is very good and you'll feel confident at high speeds, whether on smooth terrain or 4x4. The Souly Grail is one of those boards that will rip through trafficked snow.
When it comes to carving, you'll feel very much in control, and it'll take you quite naturally towards a lengthening of your turns. We're here to carve big, long curves, to ride with our eyes firmly planted in the distance. If you're looking for a board that stays lively for very short, sharp turns, you might be a little less comfortable. We're talking about a pretty stiff flex with limited torsional deformation, which is best suited to athletic, big-bodied riders. We'd advise you to choose one that's perhaps a little smaller than your usual size.
We were very impressed by its adaptability to the terrain, and felt very confident in the changing snow conditions, moving from well-groomed slopes to trafoil to powder. The ollie works well, but you need to have strong thighs and a board that jumps straight and far, to swallow bar and land solidly. A great freeride carving machine for more experienced riders who want a board that's firm, solid and efficient, but not austere either."

"La Amplid Souly Grail fait partie de la gamme centrifugal collection qui souhaite se concentrer sur une approche carving de la montagne, du damé à la plus grosse poudre dans le cas de ce modèle. On a eu sous les pieds une très bonne planche de freeride avec une orientation carving assez intéressante. On a toutes les composantes de la board qui est là pour tracer, vite et loin. C’est ultra stable, l’accroche est très bonne et vous serez en confiance à haute vitesse que cela soit sur le tout lisse mais également en terrain 4x4. La Souly Grail fait partie des boards qui fendent la neige trafolée.
Côté carving on se sent très en maîtrise, elle vous emmènera assez naturellement vers un allongement de vos virages, on est là pour tailler de la grande courbe bien allongée, pour rider le regard bien planté au loin. Si vous souhaitez une board qui reste vivace pour les virages coupés très courts, vous risquez d’être un peu moins à l’aise. On est sur un flex plutôt bien rigide avec une déformation en torsion somme toute un peu limitée, qui conviendra mieux aux gabarits athlétiques et costaud.
On vous conseille d’ailleurs de la choisir peut-être un peu plus petite que votre taille habituelle. L’adaptabilité au terrain nous a bien impressionné, on était en pleine confiance dans les neiges changeantes, en passant de la piste toute bien damée, à la trafole jusqu’à la poudre. Le ollie fonctionne bien mais nécessite un peu d’avoir les cuisses en forme, une board pour sauter plutôt droit et loin, pour avaler de la barre et plaquer bien solide en réception. Une belle machine de freeride carving pour rideurs plutôt déjà confirmés qui souhaitent une planche ferme, solide, efficace mais n’étant pas austère non plus."
