By the middle of May it's likely that the Alps have experienced more than a few downpours of rain and summer-like days with temperatures in the mid 20s. So it's rare that you can find a snowpatch big enough to ride within walking distance of a main road. But then again, when you know your local mountains like Philip Toplitsch there are hundreds of possibilities.

Last weekend Splitboarding.eu hosted its Spring gathering at the Amberger Huette in Stubaital. Late season snowfalls had provided enough snow for easy access to the surrounding peaks from their base. Amplid's Alex Proyer joined the party.

For most the ski season ends when the last lifts wind down for the season, but for ski tourers the fair weather and low avalanche risk make May a prime month for ski touring. Last weekend Ambush rider Morgan Sauerwald took his new Ego Trip Evolutions for a test run in the Mont Blanc Massif.

Every year Burton's Stash Park, a creative terrain park constructed from natural materials and designed to blend into the environment, in Avoriaz, hosts the Stash Gathering. Pros, seasonnaires and visiting tourists gather to shred the park and win one of Frances most highly regarded snowboard contests.

Philip Toplitsch and his crew of riding buddies, The Army, love Vorarlberg, the region of Austria where they live. Alton Premium Store recently held their end of season tournament, a fun park session and get-together for the local scene. Amplid's Philip Toplitsch showed-up to support his long term sponsor and ended-up taking home the best trick prize with an uber stylish bs double cork 900.

Grass Roots events are sooo hot right now... but seriously, what's not to like about hanging-out with friends and snowboarding at the same time. Keep Snowboarding 2015 took place last week and brought together the Vorarlberg snowboard scene in Damuels. Amplid's Philip Toplitsch and Jonel Fricke took-part.

For North America's best park riders and the shaping teams from the US' top terrain parks, Snowboarder Magazine's Superpark sessions are an annual highlight. The shaping teams, that hale from resorts like Boreal and Bear Mountain, transform the venue into the most progressive park on the planet. This year Pennsylvania's Seven Springs hosted the event.

SLVSH is the contest in which the world's best freeskiers battle against each other in a game of S.K.A.T.E. This week's episode has devided the Amplid camp, since Luka Melloni is skiing against Noah Albaladejo, both of whom are important members of the Cartel family.

Splitboarding is great, what could be better than accessing beautiful peaks with thousands of meters of untouched vertical stretching out into the distance. Well that's the romanitic view, the reality can be very different. Amplid's Nico Antony recently spent 8 days in the Southern Alps exposing himself to awful conditions and learning essential survival techniques.

Once a year Luka and Noah cross the borders of Andorra and Spain into the French Pyrenees for the Rail Trick Session in Font Romeu. This year the usual BBQ vibes were a little dampened by the heavy snowfall, but Luka and Noah proved once again that they're the guys to beat.

The Ahornspitze is one of the Zillertal Valley's most prominent peaks. Just under 3000m high, it towers above the resort town of Mayrhofen, basking in the late afternoon sun. For any freerider who spends time in the Zillertal it's on the bucket list of peaks to ride. Ambush rider Alex Proyer recently ticked it off his list.

Last week Julien Lange and Kevin Salonius were hanging-out with Swiss Cartel rider Alex Neurohr and filming for a video series in his home resort Vercorin. While they were there, the crew took a day off filming backcountry jumps to join Ambush rider Jeremy Rudaz for the Gangs of Thyon contest.

This winter Cartel rider Kevin Salonius has been to the far corners of Europe in search of new skiing adventures. At the end of February, Kevin travelled to Oslo, Norway's Capital City, to film with his homies at WordUp Projects. He kindly put together this little trip report.

For the last month Amplid Cartel skier Alex Neurohr has been a busy guy. With a lack of fresh snow to play in, in his native Switzerland, Alex headed east to the Polish Freeski Open in the High Tatra Mountains in search of glory.
