In early February, Amplid's AK splitboard ambassadors, Ben Reynolds & Orin Rolando, made the most of stable conditions and a good weather window to ride dream lines in Alaska's Chugach range. It was meant a long day in the skin track to reach the drop-in, but for Ben , this hike was about redemption on a line which had previously tried to sluff him off the face.

Young freeride rookie Sebastian Hiersche is on fire! Through the season his line choice and contest runs have gone from strength-to-strength with podiums in Montafon, Gastein and Kitzsteinhorn and a very respectable 6th place at his first 4* FWQ event in Nendaz, Switzerland. In February, for the second consecutive year, Amplid's in-house graphics man, Mr Michi Hanauer, packed his Millisurf and headed east to Romania's Carpathian mountains for some splitboarding. Having seen the potential on his previous visit, Michi was eager to catch Romania at its best.

At the end of January, Amplid team rider Ray McDermott and a buddy jetted across the globe to Japan to enjoy everything that Japan has to offer and escape the snow-less Rockies. It's almost expected that a trip to Japan involves snorkel-deep powder, the snow conditions did not disappoint.

Amplid's Peter Bauer and handful of buddies made the drive last weekend to Laax in Switzerland to join the SuddenRush Banked Slalom. Organised by snowboarding legends Nicolas Mueller and Terje Haakonsen the Sudden Rush Banked has quickly become an unmissable event in the European Snowboard calendar.

This weekend Banked Slalom fever hits the Bavarian mountainsides of Brauneck, Lenggries, as Schneesturm Snowboard School hosts the Burning Boots Banked Slalom. Only a short drive from Amplid HQ, you'll certainly see a handful of Amplid boards firing through the finish line!

French freeski bible, Skieur Magazine, gives the Antidote another chance to impress its testers at its annual ski test. With the addition of a carbon stringer band for the 18/19 winter season, the Antidote seems to have increased its versatility and broadened its fan club! Read the translated review here.

Amplid splitboard ambassadors Ben Reynolds and Orin Rolando take the short (by Alaskan standards) drive to Hatcher Pass on the cuff of the Talkeetna Mountains, to ride Golden Spine, one of Ben’s all-time favourite lines. In recent years Hatcher Pass, a busy thoroughfare during the early 20th century gold rush, has become a popular haven for backcountry skiers and snowboarders.

The Nomads is the ultimate shred hostel. In 2014, with the help of a successful crowd funding campaign, owners Tim and Val started converting an old US School Bus into a hotel on wheels. Now almost four years later, the bus spends its winters chasing fresh snowfalls in mountain ranges throughout Europe with up to six guests in-tow. This spring, from the end of February until the middle of May, the Nomads bus will be based in the Arctic Circle, accommodating avid ski-tourers and splitboarders. The bus is now equipped with a fleet of Amplid touring skis and splitboards.

US Amplid ambassador Buell Steelman has spent a lot of time on his Milligram over the past two winters touring in California's Eastern Sierra range. Splitboard.com reached-out to Buell and asked him to share his experiences of Amplid's flagship splitboard. Buell also gathered the opinions of a handful of fellow riders and friends who have also been impressed by the Milligram's prowess.
