When you've spent your whole skiing life riding icy, rock-hard park transitions, adjusting to the soft landings and non-manicured take-offs of backcountry jumps can take a while. Last February, Amplid sent rookie team rider Kevin Salonius away from his comfort zone in Finland to learn to ski big, home-made jumps in Switzerland's backcountry. Kevin hooked-up with team rider Alex Neurohr in his home resort of Vercorin and although he was injured, Julien Lange tagged along to give Kevin some moral support.
